STRUCTURE AND SCHEDULE

The main focus of the council will be an ongoing assessment of the current and future environment of the diverse academic offerings of the Department with an emphasis on how the Department can respond with its mission of education, research and service.

Meetings will be structured occasionally as focus groups where the input and advice of members will be sought regarding current and future direction in one or more of our specific programs.

Meetings will also be designed to keep members fully informed of the current activities of the Department and the College, and to develop familiarity with faculty interests and expertise.

Meetings will be held once a year on the University of Maryland campus.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Committee members are not reimbursed for their travel or lodging expenses in conjunction with their participation on the Council. The Department hosts a dinner the evening before the meeting and meals on the day of the actual meeting. Additional social events may be scheduled on both days.
