Administrative Services


The administrative staff is available to effectively manage the day-to-day operations in support of the scholarship and research of the department.   A listing of our primary supports services follows.   This list is by no means exhaustive and we are always available to assist you with your special projects or tasks.   Just stop by the office and inquire.  

Business Services

  • Serve as liaison to University Purchasing; ORAA; Payroll  and Accounts Payable Offices
  • All aspects of grants management – pre- and post-award
  • Process all purchase requests
  • Process all employment appointments and contracts
  • Assist with trainee, J-1 and H-1 Visa applications
  • Management of Telephone equipment and service
  • Notary services

General Office Services

  • Prepare various letters, envelopes or labels for single or mass-mailings
  • Maintain department telephone directory
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Assist with photo copies and faxes
  • Reserve conference rooms
  • Manage key distribution and card key access to our buildings (pdf form)
  • Parking
  • Faculty time reporting

Housekeeping and Building Maintenance

  • Liaison to University Facilities Management
  • Facilitates special cleaning requests

Equipment

  • Capital equipment management
  • Disposal of surplus equipment

Seminars and Departmental visitors

  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements for Departmental visitors
  • Assist with building visitor’s schedules
  • Distribute seminar notices
  • Process visitor’s travel reimbursements after the trip
