Advising for Chemistry and Biochemistry Majors

All chemistry and biochemistry majors are required to meet with their departmental advisor each semester prior to registration.

A collection of frequently asked questions about advising is here

Once you know the date that your registration window opens, you should contact the advising office (phone: 301-405-1791, email: chemadvise@umd.edu) or stop by room 2102 to make an appointment to meet with your advisor. You should set up the appointment at least a week prior to your registration window.

NOTE: Some advisors prefer to arrange their own advising appointments. In this situation, the advising office will supply your advisor's contact information. It is then your responsibility to contact your advisor to make advising arrangements.

At the end of your advising appointment, you will be given two copies of an Advising Report. It is imperative that you bring one copy of the Advising Report to room 2102.

Failure to deliver a copy of the Advising Report to room 2102 will result in your not being allowed to register for classes.
