The University of Maryland-College Park Campus is served by three major airports.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
http://www.mwaa.com/national/ The airport 13 miles (21 km) from the University. Driving, mainly over city streets, to campus takes about 30 min., assuming there are no traffic problems. To get to campus you can either take the Supershuttle van service http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/dca.htm for approximately $26, or the METRO http://www.wmata.com/ subway system ( fare varies with time of day, but most likely <$4)). There are signs for the METRO station in the terminal. Follow those. Then take the Yellow line in the direction of Mt. Vernon Square to the Gallery Place-Chinatown station, Transfer to the Green line in the direction of Greenbelt. Get off at the College Park station. The metro station is about 1 mile from campus. You can either take the red Shuttle-UM bus to campus (free, but limited hours), or take the metrobus F6 ($1.25 or $0.35 with a transfer) to the campus. Of course, taxi service (approximately $40)  and rental cars are also available at the airport.

Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport http://www.bwiairport.com/  The airport is 30 miles (48 km) from the University. Driving, mainly on interstate highways takes about 40 min, barring any major traffic delays. The easiest way to the campus is to take the Supershuttle http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/dca.htm (ca, $30). Taxi service (approximately $35) and rental cars are also available.

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
http://www.metwashairports.com/Dulles/ This airport is about 37 miles (60 km) from the University. Driving, mainly over interstate highways, takes about 55 min, assuming no significant traffic problems. Supershuttle http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/dca.htm fare is ca. $36. You can also stop at Union Station in Washington DC. From there you can take the METRO rail Red line in the direction of Glenmont or Silver Spring. Transfer to the Green line at Fort Totten, then take that line in the direction of Greenbelt at disembark at the College Park/UMD station. The metro station is about 1 mile from campus. You can either take the red Shuttle-UM bus to campus (free, but limited hours), or  take the metrobus F6 ($1.25 or $0.35 with a transfer) to the campus.
