Summer Program
There are two (2) summer sessions:
SUMMER I = 6/1 - 7/11/10
SUMMER II = 7/12 - 8/22/10
The evening summer program covers the period: 6/1 - 8/22 (12 weeks, two evenings per week)
The following courses are offered in Summer Session I
- Chem 131 (lecture, 3 credits), 132 (lab, 1 credit) - general chemistry I
- Chem 231 (lecture, 3 credits), 232 (lab, 1 credit) - organic chemistry I
- Chem 241 (lecture, 3 credits), 242 (lab, 1 credit) - organic chemistry II
- Chem 271 (lecture, 2 credits) - general chemistry (II) and energetics
- Chem 272 (lecture + lab, 2 credits) - general bioanalytical chemistry lab
- Bchm 461 (lecture, 3 credits) - biochemistry I
The following courses are offered in Summer Session II
- Chem 231 (lecture, 3 credits), 232 (lab, 1 credit) - organic chemistry I
- Chem 241 (lecture, 3 credits), 242 (lab, 1 credit) - organic chemistry II
- Chem 135 (lecture, 3 credits) - general chemistry for engineers
- Bchm 462 (lecture, 3 credits) - biochemistry II
- Bchm 463 (lecture, 3 credits) - biochemistry of physiology
The following courses are offered in the Evening session
- Chem 131 (lecture, 3 credits), 132 (lab, 1 credit) - general chemistry I
- Chem 231 (lecture, 3 credits), 232 (lab, 1 credit) - organic chemistry I
Prerequisite information
- Chem 231/232 requires completion of chem 131/132 (or general chem I equivalent)
- Chem 241/242 requires completion of chem 231/232 (or organic chem I equivalent)
- Chem 271/272 requires completion of chem 241/242 (or organic chem II equivalent)
- BCHM 461 or 463 requires completion of chem 272
- NOTE. Lecture and laboratory pairs (ie, 131/132) must be taken concurrently
